Sealing my Valentine's Cards with a Kiss

I'm still going with the Valentine's Day cards. Last year, I had bought a bunch of cute V-Day stamps from the $1 bin, thinking some of them had phrases I'd get a lot of use out of. I haven't really used them aside from the holiday stuff, but I think this is a good example of a phrase that can be used outside its holiday.

Anyway, this card is from Retro Sketches #99. I love the look of the red embossing on the lips! Totally effective.

Yetis In Love!

I still have more Valentine's Day cards to make. This card took quite a bit of time to make but I really love it. The little pink monsters are the Lawn Fawn Yetis. The sketch is from i {heart} sketches 50.

Bring on the Valentine's Day cards!

I'm trying to get the drop on this holiday early. I had a little help, too. We'll get to that in a minute.

My first card is for Freshly Made Sketches #119, which I wanted to play with because I almost never think to do anything on the diagonal. [Not only that, but I deviated from the sketch, which I never do!] The papers come from the January card kit from Simon Says Stamp, which I had been debating joining up and finally something came along and twisted my arm in to doing it...

It was this guy! I just had to have him! I knew my other half would really enjoy a fun bug-eyed monster. So I had to add him to my stamp collection. The kit is a little pricey, IMHO, but it always has lots of fun product in it so I decided to sign up for awhile. (I probably feel that way because I never pay retail. Okay, almost never.) This card and the next are both for CASE(E) This Sketch #60.

Since cardmaking is also retail therapy -- hee hee, never too much paper in the collection! -- I had also picked up a couple of paper pads at my local 'Crap Warehouse' before I signed up for the kit -- now I'm swimming in Valentine's papers. Anyway, the papers are from Pebbles "Yours Truly." The little foam hearts were part of a gift from Unity Stamp when my BF put in a HUGE Christmas order for me. I've not hardly made a dent in using all of my Christmas goodies. Oh boy!!!

For once, I've also done the interiors. I stamped "Happy Valentine's Day" from the Simon Says kit in pink. I have a little thought... I might try selling cards. I'd tell you more, but let's just say I have a very close relationship with a local non-paper boutique craft store, and I thought my friend, the owner, would put a couple of my cards on her counter. What do you think I should charge? Is $5 a nice round number? Too much? I'm thinking, I would think it's too much but only BECAUSE I make my own. I might let her price them... that was my real thought. She knows her customers best.

Thinking of my friend

I had lunch with a special friend the other day. She told me she's having a bit of a... well, perhaps not a hard time, but certainly a strange and interesting one. I've been thinking of her a lot. There's not really much of anything I can do for her at this point. I hope things improve for her. She will get through, no matter what, but it would be nice if some things got easier for her!

I used the sketch from Unscripted Sketches #238. My sentiment didn't stamp very clearly, so I filled it in with pen a little. It looks a little hand-drawn and I like it that way!

Supplies: all papers and dots by My Mind's Eye. Sentiment from Inkadinkadoo.

Behind on crafting? Never!

I am so far behind. I thought I got caught up just in time for Christmas, but no. I missed a few important gifts and birthdays, and now I feel like a putz. Here's a few catch-ups.

I made this one for RIC #50 like a week ago, but never took a photo.

This is a wedding present for my BFF... whose wedding was in October. Luckily, she is chill, and knows I would get it to her in time! I started her Christmas present and never finished it either... :( I'm a jerk!

I found the frame at Craft Warehouse, covered it paper and embellished with ribbon, tag, flower, metal tree medallion, twine, border, sentiment sticker, and gems. I inked the edges and interior to death. I took out the black hanging ribbon it came on and replaced it with more ribbon! I hope she likes it. Their wedding was very 'forest garden zen'. I had done their invites in this purple and green. I bet she likes it. I like it. And that's rare, as you know, dear reader!

Edited: one more! Need a birthday card for tomorrow.
